Schoolchildren Demonstrate Their Copper Knowledge
Schoolchildren Demonstrate Their Copper Knowledge
The 2016 Copper Education Competition has been judged and the winners announced, with the top entries once again demonstrating excellent scientific understanding of copper and the properties that make it key to modern living
The competition called on UK students aged 11–16 to design an educational poster to appeal to their peers, explaining particular applications of copper and the properties that make it essential to modern living. The three categories were:
- Buildings and Design
- Electronics and Communication
- Health and Medicine
Richard Needham of the Association for Science Education—one of the competition judges—explains the qualities that set the winning entries apart in two YouTube videos, for the 11–14 and the 14–16 age categories.
